The Sherwin-Williams Company, founded in 1866, and its consolidated wholly owned subsidiaries (collectively, the Company) are engaged in the development, manufacture, distribution and sale of paint, coatings and related products to professional, industrial, commercial and retail customers primarily in North and South America with additional operations in the Caribbean region, Europe, Asia and Australia. The Sherwin-Williams Company is incorporated in Cleveland, Ohio. Sherwin-Williams is a publicly traded company; its common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SHW).

The Company is structured into three reportable segments – The Americas Group, Consumer Brands Group and Performance Coatings Group (collectively, the Reportable Segments). With global headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, Sherwin-Williams® branded products are sold exclusively through more than 5,300 company-operated stores and facilities, while the Company’s other brands are sold through leading mass merchandisers, home centers, independent paint dealers, hardware stores, automotive retailers and industrial distributors. The Company is comprised of three reportable segments, which together provide our customers with innovative solutions to ensure their success, no matter where they work, or what surfaces they are coating. 
The Americas Group operates the exclusive outlets for Sherwin-Williams® branded paints, stains, supplies, equipment and floor covering in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. The Group also manufactures and sells a wide range of architectural paints, industrial coatings and related products across Latin America through company-operated stores and dedicated dealers. 
The Consumer Brands Group sells one of the industry’s most recognized portfolios of branded and private-label products through retailers across North America and in parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and China, and also operates a highly efficient global supply chain for paint, coatings and related products.

Changes during the 2018 reporting year are identified in the 2018 Annual Report; page 6 describes changes to the senior management.

On June 1, 2017, the Company completed the acquisition of The Valspar Corporation (Valspar) which significantly affected the existing business.  As of the close of the Acquisition, our reporting segments changed to better reflect the operations of the combined Companies. Details of the acquisition and other changes can be found in the 2017 Annual Report and subsequent Press Releases.  Our acquisition integration effort is on track.  More discussion on the integration is available in the 2018 Annual report page 3.
